On September 20, The IoTMADLAB was present at the IV smart city RECI Congress, an event that brings together the municipalities that make up the Spanish Network of Smart Cities, along with public entities of the central government and the European Commission and all industry players, in a collaborative space where to share trends, best practices and challenges presented by smart cities. With two stands in the Madrid Digital Capital space, we showcased the work of our laboratory in the design of smart urban spaces, highlighting how we are contributing to the construction of an open, interoperable and cybersecure city, aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of municipal public services.

Our colleague Guillermo del Campo, Technical Director of IoTMADLAB Cedint-UPM, gave a presentation in which he explained the details of the collaboration in R+D+i between the Madrid City Council, its Digital Office and the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). This collaboration has been key to the creation of a physical and virtual space dedicated to innovation, with the aim of establishing a model that allows the deployment of an open, neutral and interoperable IoT network, promoting the digital transformation of services in the city of Madrid.

With this type of collaboration, the Madrid City Council continues to promote the efforts framed in the Madrid Digital Capital strategy, to boost the innovative ecosystem of the city and the creation of digital solutions that improve the quality of life of citizens.
